It's a bloody minefield fruity, everyone has IBS for different reasons. It took me years to realise cooked onions gave me major problems, along with stress, If I ate a stirfry with loads of veg that would start it off as well. What definitely helped though was probiotic stuff, I take Multibionta multi vit which has it in, did me a treat.
I agree with rocky, what works for some etc. I know my biggest enemy is stress, the tiniest thing these days sets me off. Foodwise there's a list of things that irritate.
I find that mebeverine (Colofac) helps with pain and I'm certain I've improved since I started having actimel every day.
I agree with Robinia that mebeverine (Colafac) is the best (I tried quite a few different ones before finding this one - it works wonders) its on prescription so see your doctor.
You can buy small quantities of Colofac over the counter (which is good for emergencies, it always strikes at weekends/holiday times!) but see the doctor first.
