If I knock my left knee on something (not necessarily something hard eg my dog sometimes knocks into me with his head or shoulder lol) I get a stabbing pain - also if I tap it with my knuckles right on the front of the knee the pain shoots through me. Any ideas what it could be?
Have you ever had an operation/injury at the point where you knock the joint, if so it "maybe" have some ongoing nerve damage, which may sort itself in a few months... but given that nerves are somewhat difficult to repair..... Better ask the more "health oriented" AB'ers for advice.
Only many years ago when riding a horse, passed very close to another rider and my knee was twisted out sideways but not had any problems from it. This has been noticeable for about a couple of weeks now and its also very painful if I kneel down and try to get up.
Gets stiff when I spend too long on the computer! Not very swollen but maybe a bit lumpy but there seems to be an actual point where it is painful if touched.
