MENOPAUSE RELIEF
9 Answers
My wife has been suffering from the effects of the menopause for over ten years. She is constantly flushing, sweating during the day, which makes her grumpy. Night time is worse she has hot flashes, sweating and has to change the sheets and her night ware almost every night. She has tried everything that can be found on the net, and the doctors prescriptions have little of no effect. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I use natural progesterone cream. Incredible stuff. Make sure you get a good one such as Natpro which is organic.

Poor Mrs qui - sympathies.
I agree Black Cohosh is good. But for some sound advice which she might not have tried yet it would be worth have a single consultation with a Professional Herbalist.
Remembering that all medicine was natural in the beginning, it can do not harm to try the traditional methods. It takes out the trial and error of the various options as they can tailor the dosage to the individual. But DO use this website to find a registered practitioner in your area rather than look at ads or internet links.

I also recommend single quilts or bed linen and little single blankets which she can throw on and off without worrying about disturbing you. Equally you can adjust your individual bedding requirements too as they will change as you get older and as this weather continues to change so rapidly.

The only thing that ever helped me at all and then only temporarily but for quite a while, was progestogen cream from these folk.

This isn't a spam and I have no links with the firm in question. I presume that you wife has gone over to natural fibre clothing and nightwear, cool baths and showers, plenty of liquid to drink and cut down on caffeine?
I tried black cohosh, red clover, the vitamin mix, soya, hrt, Agnus castus, the lot, nothing helped except the progestogen cream and management things like natural fibre clothes and so on. It's not as bad as it was, it's been about 14 years now, about 5 before I actually stopped bleeding and the rest afterwards.

After years on HRT, I stopped a few months ago and have the same problems as your wife. I was recommended Sage tablets and started the 2,000 mg one a day tablets from Healthspan a few weeks ago. I was told to persevere, as it takes some time before they really start to work, and I have now had fewer hot flushes during the day and night. I also found that omitting coffee and alcohol helps. Good luck
I have tried everything & the only thing that has eased my flushes a lot & my "moods" got better which hubby `s benn so happy about. is Holland & Barret FLASH FIGHTERS. My menopause started 30 years ago. I had to come off Hrt 15 years ago. The flushes can go on for ever. I know a few women in their 80`s who still get them.
