Hi `Matey`!,....it`s only me....As you know, I`m not a well `peeps,` and have had a catheter in for months, which makes me cringe every time I feel I want to urinate due to a feeling of `bursting`. I`m sure you know what I mean, and I just thought I`d ask if it was possible to use the tube without the `bag` attached to give quicker relief. Bye the way, are you doing any hill climbing yet, and full of vim and vigour???

Now which type have you got. one which has a valve attached and allows you to control the flow of urine OR the older type where the end of the catheter passes straight into the bag?

The former, which can disconnect.

I think that you mean the latter.......LOL

Providing that you can clip off the catheter manually, then fine remove the bag, but if you can't, then when you remove the bag, the urine will flow directly out of the catheter with nothing to collect it in.

Carlton... when was it last changed? it may be the holes at the business end are furring up or you need a slightly larger one to give you better drainage.
No reason not to wander into the lo and disconnect it for a faster drain though so long as yo can keep the connections pretty much sterile ask one of your nurses to get you an alcohol spray to use when you reconnect
