Has anybody who is missing Syndol as much as I am come up with any good substitutes?
I have bad menstrual headaches and I haven't found anything as good. Also, I want to know if you've tried anything that you definitely would NOT recommend so I can avoid it.
Thank you.

I find syndol/boots own were brilliant for weather headaches and struggled until I found out you can get the active ingrediants by combining co codamol and a sleep aid anti histamine called doxylamine succinate (amazon have it) to get the equivalent of syndol you only need half a 25mg tablet of the doxy with the two cocodamol works out much cheaper too.. A whole one works better than nytol but I feel too dozy the next morning so keeping them for the headaches only
Hi notafish,
I get awful headaches and Syndol are the only thing that shifts them too. I've be gutted about them being off the market, but good news....SYNDOL IT BACK IN STOCK! Got some in my local Boots on friday and I've read that others online have been able to get some in their boots too. I's heard rumours online it was back and asked in one branch of Boots last Monday only to be told it would not be back in stock till the end of September. After reading more and more people saying they'd been able to buy it I tried another branch on Friday and thank goodness they actually had some and told me they'd actually had it in stock since the start of the week! I would try Boots and if they don't have any just keep trying as they do seem to be distributing it again, it just seems to be taking some time for all places to get it.
Hope that helps and good luck getting some and with the headache battles.

Thanks all very much. I have found them. They don't seem as effective as before, or it could be that I've had this hormone headache for a couple of days before taking them. I usually take them at the onset, as the headache can last for five days otherwise. To anyone who has used them since they've been reissued. . . Do you find them as effective?
The packets now still have the old company on them which leads me to believe they are just stock that was already made, but they stopped distrubuting before the licensing issues. I've taken one this morning and it seemed to work the same as before, I do find that if I've allowed my headache to get worse before taking one they can seem less effective. I usually only have to take one tablet and on those times when I let it go on too long I can take 4 throughout the day and only have it take the edge of. It's probably because the headache has built up.
I have also compared my new box with a strip I had left over from a box months ago and the expiry dates for the tablets are only a month apart. I don't know much about tablets and expiry dates, but surely if we are going back at least 6 months then there would be a longer time period than 1 month? It does make me think the company who bought them just stopped distributing them, but still had a stockpile and have sent those ones out first.
