I went over on my left foot on Sunday I have broken my 5th metatarsal & cracked all across my foot!!!! First time I broken a bone I am 57 I have to see the O/P on Monday feeling very sorry for my self has anyone done the same? How long did it take to recover?

Metatarsals? They were toes in the 50's.
No....I haven't......but you are in good company...David Beckham has.....

Recovery time depends upon the union of the bone which depends upon a good blood supply and the method of treatment.
If operative treatment is avoided and you rest, then we are looking at about 6-8 weeks.
To help to avoid breakages and to strengthen her bones, my 80 year old wife takes soluble Adcal tablets (calcium)

The doctor in A&E said I could not have done that much damage going over on my foot. I did have a hysterectomy 8years ago I had a scan 5-6 years ago my bones was way above average of can they have lost density to the point I now have brittle bones?
