Hi I'm 54 although 34 in mind and love to exercise I do spin classes kettlercise and metafit during the week and have the weekends off although even then I do a lot of walking I really enjoy what I do but I'm beginning to wonder if I should start to slow it down a bit I'm fine when doing exercise although sometimes the next day I ache a bit but then doesnt most people after exercise could I be doing my joints any damage at my age?
As long as you are having days off to repair any damaged muscle, you should be fine. If you start feeling it is too much, then it probably is. If you love doing it carry on. Let your body tell you.
I'm 62 and have just started running. I'm loving it and yes sometimes I'm a bit stiff the following day.
I have a friend who is in her seventies. She addicted to the gym, she is very healthy and has no bad effects. Only stop if you feel it is adversly effecting you.
I really feel lazy now.
What with joggers and walkers and dieters, I'm just glad to sit here and support you and your achievements with my keyboard.
More power to each of you xxxxxxxxxxxxx :-D
I'm 61, I do a lot of walking (dog-owner) and I use weights every other day, I had heart surgery 3 years ago and when I checked with my GP I was told that as long as I'm not feeling any discomfort to carry on 'cause basically it's good for me.
I'm 56 and do loads of exercise, always have. Zumba's my favourite at the moment but I also do aerobics, swimming and cycling. I think unless it hurts you should do as much as possible. Exercise is brilliant not only for your physical health but for your mental well being as well. Keep going!!!
