Is 4.4 according to blood test results what is this number and is this good average or not so good?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.This could be the ratio of LDL (bad) cholesterol to HDL (good) cholesterol. A ratio of 4.4 is on the low end of "average risk". If it is the ratio of total cholesterol to HDL, then 4.4 is also about normal:

^ however, according to the new cardiac risk assessment tool, they take this reading into account with your other lifestyle factors, history etc., to see if it's worth doing something about. mine was just under 7 and the GP said it was still reasonably low risk, given all the other healthy factors in my life - now it's gone up, I've gone back on medication.
