FAO Sqad. Coliform bacteria.
2 Answers
Hi Sqad hope you can advise or suggest something to help my cousin's husband. He has been diagnosed with bowel cancer (very serious as its spread), had an ileostomy, coped with that fine but has had a severe urinary infection since his operation 2 months ago, he came out of hospital with severe waterworks pain and infection. He has been treated with numerous different kinds of antibiotics but this "coliform bacteria" which they say he has, is resistant to all of them. He has had 2 sessions of chemo but they keep postponing the chemo until the bladder infection is better. He has been backwards and forwards to the hospital, they keep him in for a few days at a time and send him home with yet another sort of antibiotic, but none seem to work. They are being very kind, but can't seem to clear it up so he can try and fight the cancer. He is back in hospital today as he took ill on Monday. Can you suggest anything at all which they could try please?

Another problem is that we do not know if the urinary tract infection is seperate from his bladder cancer or more seriously if it is a result of the colonic cancer invading the bladder in which case we have quite a different "ball game'
I am sorry that I cannot bring out a rabbit from the hat, but the "boys in white coats" know what they are doing.
Keep me informed eh?
