breast test
10 Answers
Hi, Dr found what she described as a smooth lump deep in my breast but on the side near my armpit. I have been experiencing an ache and some pain in the area for a while, and its sometimes uncomfortable to press my arm close to my body. I am 49, post menopausal & scared to death. I have an appointment at breast clinic tomorrow what should I expect?

As Sqad says I had a biopsy immediately. Painless and I was informed of everything they could tell me straight away. NFA other than regular check ups. Have many friends with harmless lumps. You will worry even if I say don't so keep us updated.

I know just how you feel. I was at the breast clinic last week and had a mammo and ultrasound. There are 2 solid masses showing on the ultrasound. I had 2 fine needle biopsies that didn't show any cancer cells but the doctor wants to do a core biopsy on thursday just to be certain. Fine needle biopsy is easy. Everyone says not to worry but its impossible not to. I won't be happy until the doctor says i have the all clear. Hope all goes well for you tomorrow.
Thank you everyone. I went for my tests today and everything was clear, just fatty breast tissue apparently, and the same with the lump under my arm, and the pain when the Dr pressed to the side of the breast is actually rib pain from an old injury. I feel a bit silly now, however he said I'd done the right thing given my family history. I wish you well GSD, let us know how you are. Thank you all again. x
