Has anyone ever been to one of these centres. I am thinking of booking the package at £139. which includes 4 important tests, i.e. risks of stroke and heart attack etc. etc.

I haven't but our local BUPA hospital offers them - however, if you are in England and Wales, your GP practice should offer a free Health Check to anyone over 40, you might want to ask there first! http://www.nhs.uk/Pla...s/NHSHealthCheck.aspx
I've never been. I get lots of letters from them and tend to ignore them. If I feel I need something looked at I go to the doctors.
Read quite a few detrimental things over the years.
A money making operation.

You can get the tests on the National Health.
I think BUPA have always offered them - at a high price and are probably more reliable than the lifeline screening organisations.

My mother went for a BUPA screening and they just give out the results and they just tell you the results and ask you to see your GP if anything untoward shows up. Might as well go to your GP in the first place. Have also read that some of their tests are not in depth enough to give accurate information.

thank you very much to you all for answering my query. I have now definitely decided against it after reading the article in the Daily Mail. Thanks again.
Of course it is money making....how else do you think that the staff etc can be paid?

Yes, you can get it for free on the NHS.

Life Screening Centre will do all the tests on the spot and the results given in what i call a reasonable time and done in reasonable comfort and if that is worth £139 to you....then go ahead.

Can't see the problem myself.
