I have been extremely tired of late, but do not feel ill. The nurse took blood tests yesterday and this was mentioned along with other things it could be.
I have been struggling to get some weight off as well lately, all to no avail.
If it is an underactive thyroid and I am put on tablets, will I feel different right away ?
When I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and started my medication, which is for life, I was on 25mg for three months then more blood test. I was then put on 50mg for three months, blood tests, the 75mg for three months and MORE blood tests. After three years I am now still on 75mg.
It can take time to get the medication right as the amounts are quite minuscule
Don't expect to suddenly lose weight. You still have to work at it. It should be a bit easier.
silka, do you mind me asking but have you ever been to Somerset.???? As I used to know someone by that name.
About the thyroid I have had problems for years and have blood tests every six months. I just cannot lose weight now matter how little I eat.! Brenda x
silka - my mater has it....levothyroxine for the rest of your life, the blood to be monitored every six months as the dosage can vary - on a number of factors....you can swing from being hypo to hyper....you should read about the symptoms of thyroid issues.
