The speed of the op Anne is because of the question over malignancy, which cannot be ruled out 100% by any means other then excision & biopsy.
The good old NHS, with all it's faults, still tries to pull out all the stops (pardon any pun....)'in cases of suspected cancer.
(Actually, it's all about reaching set targets......)
