I've suffered from gout for a few years; usually I take Naproxen which clears it up very quickly. Right now, however, I'm experiencing a very painful gouty 'flare' in my knee. Since I had a bout of gastritis a while back, my doc has prescribed colchicine since any NSAID medication is now a no-no for me - at least for a few months. Question is: is colchicine effective; the forecast side effects seem pretty unpleasant - what experiences have people had? Information and opinions warmly welcomed! Thanks in advance.
my husband is currently suffering gout in his ankle and toes, he's in agony! he's been prescribed colchicine for three days, we're at day two and so far there is improvement, still very painful though. He's been advised to take cherry capsules daily to prevent another attack, he's going to try that, maybe this would help you too............
