Depends what foods......could be as fast as 30 mins, could be as prolonged as 5 hours.
I've thought a few hours (3-4)

sqadlet, 30 mins sounds like a superhot curry!
Personal experience agrees wth squad - sometimes less than an hour, sometimes until the next day - but I can't vouch that it's actually in my stomach, rather somewhere along the intestinal tract (which is far longer than many people realise).

this is what I had for tea last night 7.30pm - 2 mini kievs, 2 mini pies (steak and ale with mushroom) 1 chicken and leek, cocktail sausages, 7 mini nuggets and 2 mini spring rolls. 12 hours later I was sick with all and sundry just thought it was strange that after that period of time my stomach wasn't empty
carrots seem to lurk about for weeks !
If it didn't travel fast downwards, queenie, it has to travel back upwards. Perhaps your gut was already still dealing with earlier food so your stomach thrw the rest back.
Doubt it would have been the snack tea Queenie, Dad and I both had the same as you and we've both been fine. I think there is something else going on with your digestion. Tell the doc tomorrow.

Well diced ones anyway :-)
Those figures that i gave were for a normal gut, if there was any condition that might slow down gut motility, then the stomach contents may remain for a much longer period of time.

I can inform you there was NO CARROT

this is possible boxy - I hadn't really eaten much prior to that, toast, cinnamon Danish and a biscuit or 2.

Don't worry i'll be mentioning it!

After the past 4 weeks Sqad 3 tummy upsets - I don't think my gut is normal anymore lol
We'd a very busy day yesterday, we were spring cleaning down at Queenie's Grandma's and it took longer than we thought and she hadn't taken her insulin with her so she didn't have lunch until very late, and a few hours later we'd had what we call a "snack tea" so I think all the upset with her meal times and lack of insulin might have had something to do with her tummy going funny. Having said that her tummy has been more than a little dodgt over the past few weeks - any suggestions as to what else we could do? We've tried the light diet, she can't for obvious reasons go on the " not eating anything at all diet" nothing seems to settle it - open to any other suggestions (apart from the not missing your insulin ones - I keep telling her to carry it with her but...)
I have just checked your past history and noted that you are a diabetic.......this may well explain your delayed stomach emptying.

I wasn't banking on being that long and I don't do Co-op prices and I do take it with me wherever I go
what do you mean "I don't do Co-op prices", queenie? Co-op prices round here are the same as the other local shops...
The Co-op near to my Mum's is very expensive compared to other Supermarkets, and they have no real competition in the town - only a small Farmfoods, unlike where Queenie and I live, Tesco has some competition and we're also soon to have a Sainsburys store coming soon. I did offer to pay for her lunch but she would still have needed her insulin

The one where my gran stays seems crazy. I'm on a very tight budget at the moment. The one where I stay too is a bit mad 75p for a can of DC when I can but one for nearly half the price in the shop next to my work
If you're a diabetic and you get caught out with no insulin wouldn't you just pay the extra for something as a one off to make sure your sugars are right?
Especially as I said I was paying!!
Question Author
Not really because without the insulin I'd be paying extra to sort out the mess i'd be in for running too high, not to mention the constant trips to the ladies
