(I was once due surgery and the surgeon mentioned he may have to remove the omentum as - quote - we don't really know what use it is.

You can certainly manage without an omentum.
But I would like to keep a certain momentum :-)

In simple terms?

It is the bodyguard of the abdominal organs.

Drain wound healing well, as is the incision. The green gunky discharge was not recent.
All dressings now changed . The DN did remark though, that i have a lot of bruising in the lower portion of the wound, and a blister has formed. No real concern, but she is coming out again tomorrow to check on it for me.
