I often get these on the back of my hands and lower arms. They vary in size from freckle size to aspirin tablet size, are not raised and don't itch. They fade to pale brown over a few days - what causes them??

I'm 60 and female. These red marks have been appearing for the last 5 years or so. They aren't bites - just red 'patches' that appear and then fade to brown!
