Prickly Heat Remedy, Please

What is your best tried and tested remedy for prickly heat, please.

Lanacane powder worked for me

Cool showers, calamine lotion, an antihistamine maybe. Are you sure it's prickly heat? I only ask because I thought that was what I got every time I went abroad in the summer but now I find it's Polymorphic Light Eruption which is different.

A great prevention (worked for my OH and dad), is to thorough exfoliate 2-3 times a week with those glove things (£1 in Tesco), it remves the dead skin cells that clog up and cause prickly heat.

It is isn't Tilly, I mean I'm not fair skinned, tan really easily and rarely burn but a week into my holiday I get these ugly hard itchy red spots - look horrible.

That's why I'm taking antihistamines. Trying to get rid of some of the blotches and the itch.
I spend my holidays in long linen trousers and long sleeved cotton tops. I would love to be able to just wear a t-shirt but I can't

I use lavender oil for the itch, and simply try to keep the area cool.

I suffered with prickly heat for years, use to make holidays and hot
Weather here miserable. I now use ultrasun sun cream its brilliant have,nt had prickly heat since . You get a long lasting tan .
