I fell out of bed about 3 weeks ago - am inclined to squeeze into about a third of the bed (no reason) but since then my back or rather my upper hip/lower back is in dreadful pain. I am writing this cos I did think ok give it about 2-3 weeks but it is really painful.

I just take the usual painkillers but of course no good and I think going to the doctors wouldn't be good either.

I am not limping etc - just feel extreme pain on left side of body - can anybody suggest some kind of relief - thank you. Conne

I suffer an immense amount of pain throughout my whole body with having in years gone by traffic accidents, domestic accidents, shootings, fibromyalgia but this pain in my back seems to top it. Perhaps another cuppla weeks it will die down a little - I do hope so!!!
What can x-rays do?... erm probably show if you've done any damage

It's hardly bothering a doctor for something like this
Raljex (sp) conne, pretty good stuff.

Question Author
psybbo - would codibar be a form of codeine - if it is - nothing works with me . I am now starting to cry with the pain as it is like a massive toothache in your back and I have suffered it for 3 weeks now hoping it will go away but it doesn;t seem to go away . I truly never cry "tears" with pain but am now. Because there are no outward symptoms to a doctor - going to him would be futile. thanks for listening to me!!!

tony av - you got it right wrong place wrong time in the 1970s Ireland and just after walking home from a wake of my 23 year old friend who was killed in an RTA the previous Saturday night. I was shot the following the Monday visiting her mother.
conne, get yourself up the A&E.
Innocents shot during the troubles !.
I agree with Tony, go to A&E, please and leave Harv for a couple of hours
Question Author
You must be joking AV - that shooting took place in 1972 - this was a fall out of bed. We live in Ireland - shooting (wee buns)

No I have genuinely hurt my back falling out of bed and so rather than moaning about it anymore - will give it another cuppla weeks then will contact GP. Thanks guys weep weep ( and I mean it) never thought pain like this would ever make cry again. I have shed so many tears. Can I rant here - lost my nephew 15 years old shot dead in Bookies, Ormeau Road, his mother died 2 years later starved herself to death. Then 7 years ago My sister's only son/child 33 years old drowned in Thailand. Will that do you. I am ready for a psychiartric unit. Oh but life goes on.
Question Author
Just having a wee yarn here as I have taken more painkillers - Mr Harv - is relaxed in bedroom altho he hasn't been great this week. Conne

Thanks all for reminding me of A&E - A&E is 13 hours here - couldn't stick it in a million years - I will just rest the hours in bed . Sista coming tomorrow but all is done - house nice clean and dinner made - all I have to do is peel potatoes. Conne
13 hours in A&E is nothing compared to a lifetime of agony
A&E is 13 hours here

What do you mean conne ?.
Oh conne , you have had your troubles all right. Also you are a very strong lady who thinks she should soldier on through the pain, but really - think of it this way, you need to get sorted to look after Harv, take care my love.
