For actual statistics, select the primary type of cancer from the list here:
http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/cancer-help/type/
(NB: Don't select 'Bone cancer', as the data there only relates to cancer which originated within the bones).
Then look for the 'Outlook and stats' link (in the 'Treating xxx cancer' section). From there, scroll down to 'Stage 4'.
If it is a primary cancer of bone......then it all depends upon which type and how aggressive it is, could be treatable and curable or could be baccically a death sentence.
If it is a secondary cancer of bone (i.e spread for another distant organ) then again it depends upon the aggressiveness and type of the "mother" tumour.
Now some secondary bone cancers ( metastasis) can be solitary ( the one and only) and this is certainly treatable....e.g from a kidney.
So you see there is no simple answer.
I haven't yet opened the link of Buenchico but that will probably give you the survival rates for various cancers.
