TY, Bednobs. She's already taking Co-Codomol 30-500 and says they're not much help. I think she'd be very reluctant where surgery is concerned. I suppose we'll see in time.
They will look at what the problems, all the problems are, eg pain, poor mobility, how she manages at home, what she wants to do that she can't, how she sleeps at night, weight management if that's an issue, cardiac and respiratory function, general muscle strength and joint function. and what the options are and tell her what is possible , what isn't and likely outcomes of the options. She should be seen by someone who will do a comprehensive assessment and then she will see the people who can help her for any specialist assessment. These are likely to be people like a pain management specialist, a physio, an occupational therapist, maybe a podiatrist or appliance (shoe wedge) technician. From there, she will get a treatment plan.
Glad she's going for the assessment, anyway
