This may seem a silly question, but how do I set about contacting his secretary?

Find out in which private hospital he operates, ring it and ask to speak to his secretary.

You may need a doctor's referral letter, some Consultants do others don't, I never worried about them.

Also his NHS secretary at Musgrave Hospital will give you his private secretary's telephone number.

Thank you yet again, Sqad.
Did you notice the Seamus Heaney programmes on BBC4 tonight, Sandy.
Pleasure.

Svejk, thanks. If you hadn't mentioned them I'd would have missed them. And they're on at a time when I take control of the remote.
Alternatively write to:
David Beverland, MD, FRCS,
Musgrave Park Hospital,
The Primary Joint Unit,
20 Stockman’s Ln,
Belfast BT9 J7B
(Prefix that address with 'Secretary to' if you prefer, but it will get to the same place anyway)

or email:

Thanks, Buenchico. I'm trying to get a move on with this and strike while the irons hot, before she changes her mind.
And this, just to give you a rough guesstimate for cost etc:
