my friend has had beta blocker dose reduced ,his pulse was down to 28 beats a minute ,he has had heart attack years ago are there any side effects to look out for by reducing dosage ,he did not ask doctor and cannot contact doctors surgery till Monday x

Well, I am a bit confused.........29 beats a minute seems rather slow to me and as it was taken at the wrist, one wonders if he has a heart block (bundle branch block) which his GP is well aware of and for which he was given the beta blocker.

There are no side effects that come to mind by reducing the drug in the particular case that you have described.

thank you for your reply his test was done by ecg also bloods which came back fine the doctor called him into surgery a week later to discuss results but and halved the beta blocker he did not ask questions about side effects though and as he does a lot of driving has got concerned x
