Does anyone know why you sometimes get really loud rumbling noises from your stomach. Sometimes its so loud you can hear across the other side of the room! Thanks

Nothing to do with the stomach....it is an intestinal thing as the muscular waves of the intestine (peristalsis) push the contents, air and digested food, on their way through the intestine to the rectum.

You have a lot of wind/air/gas in your stomach.

It is called borborygmi.
Sqaddy, how do you pronounce that big word? :)
soc..........no idea!........LOL

Boreborigmeye.
Doesn't your stomach also rumble if you're hungry, sqad ?

Mine was going hammer and tongs whilst in bed the other night..it was driving me mad.....and Mrs bear too...... so I went downstairs and had a digestive and a hot choccy....gone after that :0)
Yogi.......yepp! common before and after meals.
Thanks sqad.....I try not to midnight feast, but usually try and have a glass of milk or hot chocolate before I go to bed...settles the tum I find...

When mine was rumbling, it was the night of a bad storm we had over here in the UK in the South of England Sunday night into Monday morning, and I was REALLY tired due to gigging late Friday and Saturday....went straight to bed after getting in from helping out an elderly neighbour.

Take care Squiddly....Hi Society :0) x ( never get fed up of saying that, you know? )....Good Luck in fixing your rumbling tum, minty :0) x
