Re my mum: I knew something didn`t add up with the supposed bone met pain and it seems I was right in the first place - it`s a fractured collarbone. Just thought I`d do an update.

It happened the night before her monthly Zometa appointment so while we were in the oncology dept, I thought I would ask about an x ray as I thought she had a fracture abd it would save having to go to the GP and starting the process from there. We duly did that and were told there was no fracture. I queried what the "snicking" sound that she heard when she got the sudden onset of pain. I thought that if it was not a fracture, it must have been a ligament or something. He said that it was just bone met pain from the known mets in her humerus. I just knew he was wrong. The usual oncology doctor was off sick that day and the one we saw was someone they must have dragged in from some other part of the hospital. When she had her pelvic fracture, I knew it was a fracture and they said it was muscular. Good job I don`t take their word for it and use my own common sense isn`t it :-)
