Some Advice Please....daughter 40, Has Been Diagnosed With Shingles Over

a week ago....went to doctor and had the antiviral medication. Now the rash is drying up but my daughter has a rash all over her back and front. Not blisters of shingles but just a raised spotty rash. The question is will she be ok to be near a 89 year old who is Alzheimers.? Many thanks

Almost certainly she poses little problem to the 89year old, particularly if the old lady has had chicken pox.

Your can't catch shingles.

This rash that your daughter has is odd...........she might be getting a second dose of shingles....very odd.

HI Sqad, many thanks. These other spots aren't all together like shingles spots. They are more tiny spread out spots/rash, and faint.

OK.it is a matter of wait and see as to what happens to the spots.....whatever, they will not affect the 89year old.

The mystery goes on to day she has been itching like made and some of the spots on her stomach as getting bigger and joining together. A trip to doctors if no better on monday. Brenda xx

Hi lilacben,i have had shingles and opthalmic shingles since October and i am still on medication and hospital visits, i also came out in a very itchy rash a week after the shingles, my GP said it was because shingles affects the nerve endings in the skin, she put me on strong antihistamines and the itchy rash cleared up after about a week, hope this helps,
