Painful Hemorrhoids
10 Answers
Ouch is all I can think of you describe the throb right now from Hemorrhoids.
I have used and been prescribed Anusol and bought Germoloid ointment and Preparation H over the years..
Germaloid ointment used to sting a bit when applied but the soothing feeling followed soon after. It doesn't have that effect these days not smell the same so I guess the formula has been altered.
Anusol seems to do nothing same with Preparation H.
Can anyone recommend anything I can buy over the counter or ask my GP for please.
Sitting on my arris isn't very comfortable right now. Thanks in advance.

Scheriproct is good, I think it has some kind of anesthetising thing in it which helps a lot!
Have you had them graded (into Stages) and been given any options as regards having them sorted? Mine were found on an endoscopy and sorted by the surgeon who did it and the sorting bit was over pretty quickly, a bit uncomfortable but not too bad (and that's probably partly to do with having the camera up without sedation beforehand).
It's not a pleasant thing to have, I found that those moist flushable toilet wipes were quite soothing for external irritation and gentler to clean with.
If you have any issues which maybe antagonising them or making them worse, you could look into that e.g. straining through constipation as a GP may be able to help with that.
