I have been taking a Diuretic ( Furosemide) each morning for a considerable time now & have realised that it usually takes approx 3 hours for my body to get back to something resembling normality. Yesterday because I was going on a 2 hour car journey I took my pill at 05.30, & left home at 08.50, 45 minutes into my journey I became desperate & fortunately I managed to find a loo but, spilt quite a drop or two in the underwear department , as I am committed to doing the same journey every month, I do not really want to start wearing incontinent pads etc. which can be quite smelly & objectionable & so I am wondering if any AB-er who has the same problem can suggest a practical solution.
A family member who takes it does as Pixie says and just doesn't take it if being near a loo is going to be a problem. I don't think very occasionally missing one has done them any harm.
Thanks pixie, I was wondering whether I could leave it off for one day, however I am bothered about aggravating the Oedema in the lower limbs.
Thanks sqad, I am not sure I can take that route as I do not get home sometimes until between 18.00 & 19.00 & of course dependant on traffic.
Cheers Mamyalynne. I'm not really bothered about the Oedema I am only concerned that leaving off the dose would affect it, but it would appear that once a month will not matter so that is what I will do.
You'll be fine then - every few months I go on a long road journey (5/6 hours) with my daughter and 3 grandchildren - after an hour or so I start asking the children if they need the loo.
