Cysts On Organs

I understand we have cysts in our organs. That's the reason I had my ovaries removed (post menopausal). I heard of someone who had a cyst on their thyroid. And I guess we can get them on our livers. Does anyone kinow what causes them? I have heard that sometimes it can be a parasite, at least those on the liver. My dog had cycsts on her liver (benign). Any thoughts or discussion on this?

A little late for me to have a discussion , but an interesting question - the causes can be many and varied.

I have one on my left kidney after I had a scan last year, consultant said it was not a problem nohorn.
