I have an exercise bike living in my wardrobe. A treadmill would be much to big. Stick to escorting your young lady friend around the neighbourhood.
They havent been compared for efficiency as far as I know

why not go jogging - or road running and take dog ?
Neither. Run in park, dig garden or for me let Ned take the strain

The person I 'care' for has increasing mobility problems. Maybe I could buy a bath chair and get my exercise pushing her in it.
I agree with 237 but I find the treadmill easier.
bike for me..handy for hanging clothes on ! lol..seriously I would go with treadmill, then you can walk, jog or run !

Depends what her joints are like but a treatmill does provide weight bearing exercise which is better for preventing bone loss.

Or just take a nice brisk walk.

In our daft society we buy labour-saving devices to do the work then buy labour-inducing devices to compensate for the subsequent detrimental affect on our fitness. All of which is a profligate use of the scarce resources of our ever-depleted planet.

Her joints are in such a state (well, one, anyway) that she was offered a hip replacement which she declined.
It's my general health that prompted this question.

Yes, an ideal solution I would have thought.
Bike. I'd be more likely to use it regularly. And you get to sit down.
Neither, both get used everyday for a week then become expensive clothes horses
Both boring but if I HAD to choose, I'd go for a treadmill every time. I hate bikes and avoid the spinning class at the gym. Best of all though Sandy is a real walk in the fresh air. MUCH better for you. If you can, go for a swim. Best exercise of all. Whatever you choose, have fun... VERY important !
I find that I spill less of my beer on the bike than on the treadmill so cycling's for me.

Get a cross skier. It exercises legs and arms and the entire body.
