Whiplash injury
Thanks Sqad.....just an afterthought though....i do periodically suffer with neuralgia....could these shooting pains be because the knock has sparked the neuralgia off? I only think this because the pain is similar....but the neuralgia is normal up and down the side of my face and this is at the back of my head where I knocked myself.

Purple....difficult to say...........Whiplash injuries usually settle down without any complications, but may well exacerbate any pre-existing underlying conditions as you have well described......neuralgia, made worse by a WI.
I would say that this has happened to you Purple and may take time to settle.
In my opinion, 6 months after WI is the "cut off" time for persisting symptoms and if after that time symptoms persist, then a specialist referral is mandatory.
