I am looking for a herbal sleep aid that I can take even though I have some prescribed medication. Most of those I have found so far say not to take if you are taking a beta blocker, which I do. Beta blockers seem to be the only medication they refer to. Has anyone any ideas or recommendations.

I'd be cautious. minty - even herbal aids have ingredients which you are told not to mix with certain medication - herbal stuff can be quite potent.

Have you tried lifestyle changes instead, rather than looking to take something to help you sleep? - room less hot or cold, milky drink, bath at bedtime, etc?
How about a rosemary scented pillow?
Have you tried Nytol herbal? I don't know if it mentions beta-blockers on the packet, but I buy the over the counter Nytol and I'm on beta blockers. The pharmacist says that's fine.
Nytol is a antihistamine and may cause drowsiness with a beta blocker..BUT...that is what you want......isn't it?

I agree with the post of Cloverjo........nytol is a good call.
Do you like milk? A warm milky drink like milo or even milk with honey has to be with milk not water. It is something to with the milk. I find it works a treat. Have you git someone that can give you a good back at bed time
Do you mean a 'lavender' scented pillow sandyRoe?
Lavender helps aid relaxation and sleep.
What about Sominex? Ask the pharmacist
I must have meant lavender. Maybe the rosemary scented pillow is the reason I dream constantly of legs of lamb. ☺
Sominex contains the same ingredient as Nytol.....Diphenydramine ..an antihistamine.
Cherry juice is also good.

Tried the milk and honey last night was still awake at 3, not sure when I fell asleep after that. So think I will try one of the herbal remedies, Nytol perhaps when I can get to the shops to buy some. Thanks for all your answers.
