For the past few weeks the tops of my feet have been so itchy, so much so that I have bruised them, and grazed them scratting.
I am on Loratadine daily, and have tried all sorts topically to try and get relief.Tonight I have applied Eurax HC, Minty Mouthwash, cold water, moisturiser and god knows what.
I know it sounds comical, but honestly....I could weep.
Any help will be very welcome.

Hi, Ferlew....can you see anything to make them itch?

A few years ago I had the same thing......nothing to see but at night I would have to get out of bed and rub my feet on the curve of the stairs to ease the itching...it drove me to tears too. I would rather have the pain of making my skin raw than the constant itch.

Eventually, though I felt foolish, I did ask the GP for help and, after looking at my skin with a magnifying glass, she diagnosed eczema......yet there was nothing to see.
Whatever she gave me helped but now if it happens I find the most soothing cream is Nivea Soft.

Not much help to you I'm afraid but you have my sympathy......xx
oh, poor thing, are your feet/ ankles swollen ?
Ferlew have you tried soaking them in warm water with some bicarbonate of soda. Stops chicken pox spots from itching it might work with your feet to.
Have you tried soaking your feet in water containing bicarbonate of soda?

Can't spot anything at all Gness, it's almost every night now, I am scraping them on the coconut doormat, scratting with anything I can find, nailbrush, hairbrush etc.

Yes Daisy, t'was your good self that told me wasn't it.
I have had chronic itching in the past, try soaking your feet in lukewarm water with a little bit of shower gel, wash of all the creams, reapply the eurax hc. it was the only cream that worked for me.
I have patches of eczema on my legs. There are two types of Eurax. Get Eurax with Crotamiton ,it stops the itching dead.
The Eurax HC is useless.

Shshshshsh....from experience, anything on the warm side makes it worse.......just made a thick paste from bicarb and cold water, and painted on with a pastry brush.........blessed relief....thanks everyone...now I just need to find out WHY ????

Oh right Shaney... not heard of that one, ta :)
Ferlew....there was nothing at all to see on my feet...took me ages to get it looked at because I felt like a fraud....so much itching but not a spot or bit of dry skin. The doctor however could see what was causing the problem.

Try vinegar as a last resort.....x
Question Author
Next question.....how on earth does the bicarb help it... so much more comfy, ta folks,
Yet yer self off to the quacks, ferlew. As gness says it might be eczema.
Question Author
Blooming heck Gness, I will stink like a chippy.
Imagine... toothpase, mouthwash, hc cream, vinegar. Would a few screws of black pepper help ? rofl
Excellent news ferlew.
