A 7ry old boy I know has always been like this so wondered if anyone had a bit of a clue.
He is academically bright and capable
Socially he is on the outskirts and always goes to the back of the q
He is a very compliant boy who will do as he is told... Once he understands and remembers!!
He has slight orditory processing disfunction (instructions told will be forgotten in seconds)
He will only eat specific foods in a specific way. Such as chips cooked in a way he knows, cheese sandwiches, boiled eggs (that he has to take the shell off) bread n butter. These things have to be separated and if any of them touch he won't eat it. He would rather starve.
He will always smell the food
He eats with his teeth and the food doesn't touch his lips.
He smells everything
If he washes his hadn't he will smell then constantly for hours
He will constantly put his hands to his mouth (even if not smelling things)
He is not always aware of social niceties but seems to want to be included
I have tried looking on Google but keep getting sites for autism but can't seem to pin it down
