I cant resist chipping in my two-penny worth .....
sqad baby - how are you ?
I thought neonatal T4 screening for hypothyroidism was a blood spot - but I cant remember if it is routine in the UK ..... oops

how quickly retirees forget....
If there is money in it ( even in a free at point of service NHS)
then it will be available and here is a flyer for a blood spot thyroid test

As for myself - I have been dx euthyroid Graves Disease
and honestly it is a pain in the a-r-s-e and I feel as tho I am falling to bits
Having just persuaded my GP to do the test, Sammy
My T4 is 13.3 and TSH 5.7 ( pick units as you wish )
so pretend you got these results - what are gonna do now ?
T4 normal and TSH teentsy bit raised .... any clearer ?
so I would have this sort of thing done under medical supervision TBH ....
[ the answer for me was thyroid normal but I have the eye signs of a raised thyroid activity. When I heard that, even I went " whaaaaa ? " ]
