Eye Sight

This one I find odd (well amongst all the other things I find odd lol) about sight.
I read an article the other week about a blind man, from birth, who said he constantly saw lights even when asleep and this got me thinking about whether you could get a sort of sight tinnitus?
Now and then but since I came home from hospital all last night I could not sleep because every single image that came to mind whether moving, static good or bad had such intense light that I simply couldn't sleep.
Either individual images within the pictures (which were MUCH more vivid than I usually have) or moving show reels had flashing lights. Some were intense twinkle lights about all over the show with others concentrated on a particular image but they were always moving and always very bright. It was so maddening that at one point I got up to go to the loo and was disoriented getting out of bed.
Is there such a thing as (in some name or other) sight tinnitus or is this just a residue of my hospital stay? In other words do you think it is a one off our will it go away?
Sorry for the waffle but it was so odd that I couldn't really discribe it properly.
Thanks

I am sure it is one off
and you should wait and see ( pun intended )
reviewing the drugs you are on is quite a good idea - not only tramadol does this ( codeine springs to mind )
no one has mentioned synaesthesia that into the equation

( almost certainly not as you sort of have synaesthesia from birth )

Thanks everyone.
It is sort of wearing off slowly but it just disturbs my sleep so much when I am trying to recover lol I look back and realise it has always been there though!!
I have come to the conclusion that I put up with a lot more than I think!!
I always thought I was a great moaner and have a relatively low pain threshold but thinking of the things that have effected me recently I have put up with a great deal just because it is there.
Things that have happened (whatever it happened to be) seems to be long term but not identified. If that makes sense.
For instance:
There is no silence.....ever. but is normal for me and I can't understand when people say when it is nice when it is quiet etc
There is no dark.... Ever but always assumed this was normal for everyone!!
The pain I felt last week I have had before but because always went away it was nothing even though it had been going on for a year.
I had a bladder infection for 18 months but because it went away every couple of weeks didn't get it sorted till I changed Drs.
I had a burst vein in my leg for six months that was so pain full I could hardly tollerate sheets on them.
And that's just a couple of things. I moan about little bits and pieces but ongoing stuff I seem to ignore or not put two and two together. Is this normal or just me not paying attention or not wanting to be seen as a hypochondriac at the Drs
