Very Tight And Painful Stomach
10 Answers
Hello. I was bad through the night on Sunday, up and down to the toilet emptying myself out. Although I felt a bit shaky the next day, I wasn't too bad and started to feel better and had bits and pieces to eat.
I came back to work today and have had a horrible tight stomach all day. It's almost like trapped wind but I know it's not (as I get that a lot). It's bloated and tender when I touch it. Extremely uncomfortable when sitting down (I have a desk job) but weirdly the pain eased a bit when I went out for a walk at lunchtime.
I keep getting a feeling like I could have the runs on the way again, but nothing has happened.
Feel a bit sickly too but that may be to do with all the prodding around I've done!
Any clues what this might be or caused by?

"Dull pain near the navel or the upper or lower abdomen that becomes sharp as it moves to the lower right abdomen; this is usually the first sign, but it occurs in less than half of appendicitis cases. Loss of appetite. Nausea or vomiting soon after abdominal pain begins. Abdominal swelling."
It doesn't mention 'the runs' though.

I had the same pains more to the left and although they did consider appendicitis it turned out to be a perforated bowel - sounded extremely scary but they put me on a drip for almost a week - nil by mouth and I'm fine now - just have to watch my diet plenty of roughage Hope you are soon feeling ok buffy
