For the moment hubby is having to take some large pills. He's never been good at swallowing pills and these are causing him grief. We halve them but that doesn't help much. We've also tried mashing them and diluting them in a fruit drink but that didn't work either.

Any good tips out there would be appreciated.

try taking them with a fizzy drink, that worked for me when I started taking a lot of tablets daily. before that I couldn't swallow them.
If you can swallow a mouthful of food a pill should be no problem!
You chew food though. Yoghurt is the easiest consistency to swallow, more than solid or liquid.
