It's far more likely to have been an abdominal intramuscular injection (i.e. into the muscle tissue around her stomach, as that site is sometimes used when difficulties present themselves with the more common intramuscular sites, such as the buttocks).

Oh, if it's actually osteoporosis, then it's far more likely to have been a subcutaneous (rather than intramuscular) injection of something like Denosumab:

It's probably Denosumab which is an anti-resortive given for osteoporosis (60mg given subcutaneously every 6 months).
It's also given in the presence of bone metastatic disease at 120mg subcutaneously every 4 weeks.
If it's for osteoporosis it's currently only licenced for treatment in woman but for bone met it's given to men and women.
