From time to time over the last few years I get very red circular areas, approx 1 cm across, on my legs, usually one or two every couple of months. They do not irritate and if I don't see them (i.e. on the back of the calves) I wouldn't know they were there. I use Eumovate on them and they gradually fade and become dry patches, leaving a faint permanent mark. I do occasionally suffer from eczema (hence the Eumovate) but not on my legs and it doesn't seem the same. I don't want to bother my doctor as they are not painful/irritating but am curious to know what it is? I am now retired and lived in the tropics for many years, but some time ago now, if this has any relevance.
I am not a Dermatologist but it doesn't sound a big deal, the best I can think of is Erythema Multiforme, the commonest cause is that of a virus infection.

I cannot think of any connection of the above.
Myself, with your description, I wouldn't bother the doctor, but clearly the choice is yours.
Thanks! Wasn't thinking of going to the doctor, just curious! I mentioned the tropics as we came across many strange skin problems, which local doctors here had never heard of - e.g. larva migrans, known as creeping eruptions!
