Can I be registered with two different GPs simultaneously? I split my time between Ireland and the UK, currently I'm registered with a GP in Ireland but it would help if I could register also in the UK as I am type 1 diabetic, and to be able to get prescriptions in both jurisdictions would simplify my affairs a great deal.

You could register with one as a temporary patient and renew as needed and keep your main one.

I assume you mean the Republic of Ireland? If so that is an EU country and does not effect you registering with a doctor near where you stay in UK.
I know several French and Italian citizens who have doctors in their home country and in the UK you are in the same situation.
