I Am Really Concerned For My Daughters Health....
26 Answers
She is 42yrs old, married with one 5yr old boy, husband works abroad.
Her headaches started on and off about 4/5 months, until it got to the stage where she had them most of the day, everyday.
Her doctor put her on sick leave (she is a health visitor) sent her for x-rays, scans, blood test etc, which all came back clear, so she was given medication for migraines, which had little affect.
In the end I paid for her to see a private neurologist who sent her to a private acupuncturist for treatment.
She has had three sessions, but nothing has changed, except she keeps being told it will take time.
It is all getting to much for her, and apart from looking pale & drawn, she sometimes breaks into tears with the pain.
Any ideas what else I can do for her?

When they are in 'season' I can't drink alcohol as this brings on a migraine. The doctor put me on all sorts of drugs to prevent attacks, including beta blockers, but none worked.
As I said earlier, Imigran was the only drug that took the pain away.

I realise this is a different complaint but it might be relevant. A friend suffered from Sciatica and tried various treatments and finally went to an acupuncturist. My friend nearly gave up as there seemed to be no improvement after six weeks but gradually the pain diminished and he is now pain free, so I suggest give the acupuncture more time.
Naomi. Yes, I had tests and scans, but that was over 20yrs ago. 2yrs after the tests I was suffering another attack and I luckily saw a student doctor. I only then found out I should have been prescribed Immigran. At that time doctors surgeries were liable for the cost of prescribed drugs... I wasn't best pleased!
