oh has been to see a friend and got a nip from a nervous wee dog..broke the skin but nowt more..he has gone to doc for tetanus etc now..is he over reacting. ? have a salmon en croute in oven ...GGrrrr

the dog bites we used to sew up
we gave a tetanus jab and or booster

I keep a dog - and if I boosted each time it broke a bit of skin
I thnk I would live in sqads surgery .....

I would make sure it is clean - you know take a scrubbing brush to it and just let him howl ( OH not dog)

It also lives in soil, not in dog's saliva. You're more likely to get a tetanus infection from a cat scratching you than from a dog biting you (but, as Sqad points out, the risk is very low indeed with just a surface wound anyway).

When Princess Merlin bit me last year I went to see the doctor as it was quite sore. He gave me antibiotics as there were a few punctures in my hand but he said there was no need for a tetanus jab.

But Merlin may think that she is an attack dog but she isn't. But her teeth are lethal.

Wot a tetanus jab, whenever I got bit ( quite a few times on my paper round ) as a kid my mom just used to give it a wipe over with a bit of TCP and then slap a bit of Germolene on it and say ' If that mut bites you again bite it back'.

wiped with anti septic..doused in savlon..but still had to go to doc ! ..stopped short of sucking out and spitting a la snake bite....gawd ! ..Brownie badge did not sat 'owt about this !

LOL, so you didn't have to cut a cross ( with sheaf knife when I was in the cubs ) and then suck and spit ( or does that only work on Adder bites ). Minty you'll have to hand your badge back to Brown Owl ;-)
