Has anyone taken lactobacillus gasseri and if so, did it have any benefits?

No idea what I've tried. But from the title it looks like it converts milk to gas.
Are these pills or a yogurt brand ?
I've only ever taken pill form probiotics after a course of antibiotics.

Been known to have the odd probiotic drinking yogurt (various brands) but hear that it is not as likely to survive to reach the gut where it might do some good.

Why not give it a try and see ?

I have just bought some and started yesterday, too early to say anything.
there is no, nada zip, zero, good research evidence that probiotics do anything.
Question Author
The evidence may be only anecdotal but there seems to plenty of that.
The manufacturers make no inflated claims, in fact, it says on the container; 'Daily value, not established'.
It also says that each cap. contains 3 billion of them - an awful lot of whatever they are, maybe enough for one or two to do some good. :0)
research shows that probiotics don't do anything so it's probably coincidence that my ibs has improved since i started taking them

Question Author
ael.; Interesting, thanks
I didn’t say that research shows that they do nothing......what i said was that there is no research to show that they do something!
This paper discusses a series of random trials done outside the UK. They only looked at healthy adults and the results were inconclusive.

Pasta; // A new review of previously gathered data found no evidence that probiotics improved the balance of gut bacteria in healthy adults. //

Why would 'healthy adults' require anything at all?
That's the weakness of the studies I suppose. And the strength of advertising...telling us we *need* them. Studies need to be done with ibs patients and others who might benefit.
