Has anyone here had radiotherapy following chemo and hysterectomy please? I was fine with chemo, hardly any side effects, but I have to have radiotherapy 5 days a week for 5 weeks :(
Thanks in advance

I have had a radical hysterectomy followed by chemo and then radiotherapy . Chemo was not as bad as I anticipated but still not a walk in the park. Radiotherapy is totally painless and very quick. The only snag being that, in my own case, I had to travel in daily to central London to the hospital using Patient Transport (because of mobility problems) and this...

Never had a hysterectomy ( I'm a man ! - although some would question that !) but did have a prostatectomy just over 6 years ago, followed by 7 weeks (every day except weekends) of radiotherapy. The only problem I had was that it made me very tired. The actual procedure was painless and only took 10 minutes each session. Had to travel to St Lukes Cancer centre at Guildford for the treatment, which didn't help with the tiredness. Wishing you all the best.

Two out of three by proxy, Bathsheba. My first wife had radiotherapy followed by chemo at both Surrey's and Kensington's Royal Marsdens after an operation for kidney cancer.
I think the side effects and results depend on the particular circumstances; none of us can advise. I hope your circumstances are favourable and you recover well.

Sorry, but I know less than nothing about poetry, vetuste ;)
Hey bunkmoreland! Isn't it strange how we "connect" with people! I've often thought of you!
Virol!! I remember I used to put it on my child's dummy to shut him up! It worked too, most of the time :)
Must dash now, gotta put make-up and draw eyebrows on :)
