I've had Tinnitus for over 50 years but didn't know I had it till only 10 years ago. How could that be? Well, for all those years I had ringing noises in my ears as a result of working in a weaving shed. If you've never been in a fully operational weaving shed, then you just can't imagine the noise. In those days there was no H&S, no ear protectors, work boots, clothing etc. If you wanted those, you bought your own. Anyway, I just put these high pitched ringing noises down to the effects of the noise from the looms and didn't know it had a name or was a condition. Until about 10 years ago when I took Mrs Clarion for a hospital appointment and saw a notice about ringing noises in your ears. The noises are very high pitched, slightly lower in one ear than the other, very similar to that beeping noise when you go through a security door. when I'm tired, it gets very loud but it has never stopped me sleeping. I just live with it now. I don't think there is any treatment. Not that I've seen anywhere. Just advice about lifestyle. So there it is. Over and out. Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!

Yes. Mildly. I think most know what tinnitus is. Sorry to hear that you have it.
I have high-pitched 'eeee' sounds in my ears. Quite annoying when I think about it - like now, but not too debilitating. Sometimes I get a lower pitched whooshing sound in one ear which drives me mad. I've never sought treatment.

You can get 'white noise' headphones that mask your own internal sounds, but I've never tried them.
Yes, I have had it for years. The best thing is to try and ignore it as it gets worse if you give it importance. Try not to sit in the quiet; have a radio on for example.

I did try some medication for it a number of years ago, but it didn't work in my case.
I've had it for years and it's getting worse.

I have three or four different noises competing to be the dominant noise.

There is a high pitched whine, a whooshing throbbing noise like being in the bowls of a ships engine, a very fast metallic knock that is very similar to a noise I heard when a stone got stuck in the wheels of the car. I also have an odd noise in my left ear that gets louder and louder when there is loud ambient noise.

It is worse at night when all around is quiet.

I wouldn't wish it on anyone but on a personal level, although it does interfere with sleep and coupled with deafness does make hearing difficult at times, I am used to it lol

I've had it for a few years now. My hearing has been tested, it's fine, there's no build-up of wax in them either, so can't blame it on anything obvious, it's easy enough to live with tbh.
