When you receive a letter from the Dentist you are NHS registered with saying it's time to arrange your 6/12 monthly check-up. (£18 -£20+) can one at age 67,having two dentures, top and bottom and only about 4 original teeth left, decline the check-up,telling your receptionist that everything is O.K. and can you make me out another appointment in 6months from now ?? OR is it Compulsory to attend ?

I think it easiest to contact them and ask, some are stricter about your contract with them, whether NHS or private.

Hopefully yours is flexible.
Never compulsory but always a good idea..not just teeth but oral health check..like an optician..not just about your vision...
Often the Dental Surgery will cross you off their books if you do not attend.
I feel it's an unfair practice but I suppose it ensures that they would argue that it is perfectly reasonable....
Bah!!
///I feel it's an unfair practice but I suppose it ensures that they get maximum revenue from their patient list and they would argue that as it is in your interests to keep your mouth and teeth in the best condition possible, the insistence on 6 monthly appointments is perfectly reasonable....
don't just "not attend" call them to postpone .. I did for quite some time whilst dad was ill..simply did not have the time...all was well... back to 6 month checks..going back this Thursday actually....
