Flu!

I've had bad colds before but this flu I've got has knocked me for six!
Only just managed to get up today it feels like my whole body has taken a beating ...had Flu jab 3 months ago it's not helping !
So tired it's a struggle to do anything!

best not to do anything, except keep warm, drink fluids and any medicines you think might help.

how did your surveyor thing go?

Hi bed nobs went really well thx was worried about building surveyors finding something bad but he was happy ...the valuer came in the afternoon we told him what we wanted money wise for house he said he can't see a problem just takes a month for highways valuer and my chartered surveyor to both agree a price it's looking good.
So mid Feb bungalow hunting begins in nth lincs or sth yorks x

Poor you Volty , very lowering. Sounds like post viral fatigue. All you can do is rest, drink plenty of fluids and relax. Maybe get a supplement to build up your immune system. I've been reading it can be about 2-3 months before it leaves you. Can't be long now!

thx marval and patsy x normally get a cold just get on and do this flu feels like nothing ive felt like before good job im retired now no way could i have gone to work... just keeping in the warm and plenty of tea

My sympathies. It lasted five weeks with me. Started getting out and about this week but anything I do wipes me out. A nasty virus.

You have my sympathy too Volty. Took me about 4 weeks to get over the worst and I'm still tired. Emmie's advice is sound.

Thx jakep and maggiebee just hope it doesn't get worse than it is. I've plenty of paracetomol and Beechams wether they help I will see

Remember there are lots of strains of flu.

In 2017 the doctors had to try and predict what stain of flu woud be most common in the coming winter and create flu jabs for THAT flu.

If a DIFFERENT strain of flu becomes most common then the flu jab we all had will not be able to do anything about THAT flu.

So a flu jab does not stop ALL flu, only a particular strain of flu.

If that strain does not occur then the flu jab we all had does not protect you at all.

You're quite correct guilbert 53 I only have flu jab because I'm diabetic any way but it's not helped this time around ...this sounds a nasty virus going around this time

I had the flu jab a couple of months back, never before has it affected me but that one knocked me for six, I was incapacitated for a week.
