I was talking about periods with a close friend and she said that it wasn't normal for a cycle to be so short. 18 to 19 days is my normal, I don't remember it ever being longer. The internet said that 21-28 days is normal. So should I go the doctor for this?

Well the difference between 19 days and 21 days is ... a whopping 48 hours!

You have a very short menstrual cycle at present but this can go up and down and back up again over the course of time.

If you are particularly concerned you can discuss the matter with your GP who can do some baseline investigations and take it from there.

I went through a transient phase of having periods every 14 to 15 days after a spell of over 4 months with no periods at all, after which everything normalised without any intervention and I went on to have the perfect textbook 28-day cycle thereafter.
I don't know I'm a bloke
you say its your normal which is fine but you don't say how long you have been menstruating for?
"I don't know I'm a bloke". There is a simple test to see if you are…
That could well be normal for you and no concern of the doctor.

However......if you have associated problems......pain, bleeding after intercourse or discharge.....then see your GP

I would guess it is no big deal BUT i am only a bloke.
