What makes you come to that assumption?
you poor love. They're awful.
Used to suffer from them quite frequently years ago.

Do you know what triggewrs yours?

I heard that a glass of plain lemonade, daily, for a year can stop them.
I tried it and haven't had one since. Have no idea whether it was coincidence or just 'grew out' of them
Have been suffering from migraine for last ten years with menopause. In bed a whole day every month and have gone through everything, eliminating coffee, etc, acupuncture. The only thing that helps is as soon as I sense one coming on to take a Sumatriptan. They say extreme heat and cold exacerbate migraines and for those who have not suffered have no idea how we feel. This is the first time I haven't had a full blown migraine for five weeks, but have been doing nothing different. Everybody is different in what helps them. Best thing is to go to doctor and health shop and try everything to compare what works for you. Good luck.

Yep my doctor is aware and I have an upcoming appointment with him for a general medication review. Let's hope the weather cools off a little, even though I love the sun!!!
I get ocular/visual/classic migraine with aura. I have visual symptoms..."blindness", flashing floating lights, but not usually a full blown throbbing head. I was recommended magnesium a few years ago. I'm more likely to get an attack if I've not taken it. Also, if I apply magnesium oil to my forehead when one starts, it seems to reduce length and severity.

Thanks for that Sqad. Am interested to see how this new injection works which is supposed to available next year. I am just grateful at the moment to have gone 5 weeks with just a mild headache but not a full blown migraine. Fingers crossed and good luck to all you sufferers out there and for those who say it is only a headache, I wish you could have one for a day and then tell us it is only a headache.!!

Gill you're so right!
''for those who say it is only a headache, I wish you could have one for a day and then tell us it is only a headache.!!''

couldn't agree more !!

Am glad you've gone 5 weeks without one, hope it's for even longer than 5 weeks xx
I have two types, the head exploding light show one and less commonly an atypical type that gives me the symptoms of vertigo and dizziness. One thing I have learned is to avoid any prolonged work involving grid patterns or lots of visual repetition as my flashing lights will follow the pattern. Last happened with an overdose of sudoku, migraleve helps as does inducing vomitting , easy for me as I was bulimic in my teens but not a good idea. Some herbalists recommend feverfew a couple of fresh young leaves in a tiny sandwich every day. I haven't tried it .
Apparently there are very effective drugs to help, so forget your lovely idea of natural remedies and get something that works.
Tried the feverfew years ago, didn't work. It is definitely trial and error and depending on age etc. I worked abroad for many years in my 20s and30s in extreme cold and heat and did not suffer then, so it is unfortunately trying to find what works for us.
I should have mentioned that I started taking magnesium on the recommendation of two other migraine sufferers. Both of whom had extremely debilitating attacks, and had tried numerous other remedies. Just make sure you research the different types...some cause digestive upset if too much is taken.
I get weather migraines and find that increasing my sugar intake helps to ward them off when the weather is hot and heavy....Of course this now sounds like I am suggesting that you should poison yourself! It helps me though.

no not icecream or anything cold which makes matters worse....sugary drinks at room temperature seem to help the most
